This day was dedicated to Samuel, because it had been his birthday last Sunday and we just now had the time to celebrate with him. We started out by sleeping-in after another late night and then we all wanted to play a game of "Cash Flow". (From Robert Kiyosaki and his book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad".) It was really a great game...I was in the lead most of the time; it's not really a game about who wins or loses, though. It's more about learning how to get out of the so-called "rat-race" of working for someone else and getting onto the "fast-track" and living-out your dreams. Whatever they may be! Owning a private jet and traveling to far-off places or having your own movie company or just being in a position where you could donate $200,000 dollars to your favorite charity; basically, the "sky's the limit". We love playing that game!!! :D
We also went for a walk in the park with everyone. Rhiana probalby had the most fun; we let her do a lot of walking "pushing" the stroller. She was fascinated with so much! Oh, and she wanted to follow Samuel just about everywhere and imitate whatever he was doing. If she saw other children, she wanted to go and touch them or play with them. I'm always amazed at how much she takes in! She rode on Dada's shoulders and just hugged on him! (She wasn't always so affectionate w/him.) Needless to say, Dada was eating it up.
Later, after a lite supper of fried chicken over salad, Dad (I am trying to get into the habit of calling Todd "Dad"/"Dada" for the sake of the children.) and Samuel went to the store and brought back a few movies and ice cream. Samuel tried teasing me when I asked what kind of ice cream did they get (normally Todd only wants me to get vanilla), he told me they had only purchased vanilla and chocolate and I was a little like, "Oh? Nothing special with cookies or candy in it?!?" When we opened the bags up, there was "Cherry Cordail" and "Mint Chocolate Chip"; isn't he a stinker?! :P So we sat and watched "Flicka" for about 30 minutes, just until Rhiana needed to be put down for the night. We tried continuing it, but Dad thought it was moving too slow, so they started an action movie. That's when I jumped on the p/c! :D
All in all - a great day! I feel good that Samuel was able to have some time devoted to what he likes and he knows we are considerate of him. I'm trying to encourage Samuel to start his own journalling here on Blogger. I think it would be so good for his education, obviously, yet more than that, I think it would just be really great for HIM. I mean, for myself, I know writing helps me put my thoughts into some kind of order and really helps me FEEL better. I feel more, hmm-mnn, "calm" I guess you could say.
Okay, it's late and I really want to get more sleep than I have the last couple of nights. ~ C
